Message du président: Bienvenue à tous nos membres .Veuillez accepter mes remerciements pour le support apporté aux nouveaux membres du Conseil d’administration. L’Association du Mont O’Brien s’est donnée pour tâche de faire en sorte que cet endroit magnifique soit reconnu à travers la province. Je vous remercie également d’avoir pris de votre temps, pour exercer vos droits et conséquemment avoir clairement indiqué votre position contre le méga-dépotoir. .L’association a connue des moments difficiles et nous avons perdu des membres en raison de ce projet. Mais avec notre position maintenant clairement établie, nous avons pu recruter de nouveaux membres et je suis certain que nous pourrons convaincre quelques indécis. Quand à ceux en faveur du méga-dépotoir, je tiens à leur faire savoir que nous ne sommes pas contre eux, mais contre ce projet de destruction de notre environnement. Nous travaillons présentement avec un partenaire afin d’achever le chemin qui conduit au lac O`Brien .Nous devrions avoir des nouvelles positives à vous communiquer dans les 2 prochaines semaines.Nous aimerions organiser une marche et un pique-nique pour le mois d’août.Une date devrait prochainement être indiquée sur notre site-web.Faites nous part de vos commentaires et suggestions. L’accès au lac terminé, nous pourrons y faire de la voile,du canot,de la pêche(avec permis)et éventuellement du camping.Si ces privilèges nous étaient accordés, assurez-vous de respecter les consignes de sécurité en ce qui a trait aux feux de camp. Je me permets de solliciter votre générosité pour des donations d’ordre monétaire ou pour quelques travaux (sur une base volontaire) qui aiderait grandement notre association (machinerie pour construction du chemin, traduction, mycologie, pêche, observation des oiseaux, sports, etc…).Contactez nous! Je tiens finalement à remercier l’ancien conseil d’administration pour son travail, les volontaires et La Municipalité d’Alleyn et Cawood pour son aide passée et, je l’espère, future. Welcome to all new and old members. I would like to extend my thanks to all our members for the trust you have given to the new Board of Directors. The Mont O’Brien Association will endeavor to do our best to mold the Lake O’Brien retreat into a symbol of provincial pride. I would like to thank all of you, for having exercised your democratic right and with that; having clearly stated behind any shadow of a doubt where you stand on the proposed Mega Dump. We will strongly commit ourselves to protect and to promote the mandate of the preservation of Lake O’Brien’s’ ecological environment. The Association has had a very hard year. We have lost members due to diverse reasons; one of course being the proposed Mega Dump. With the new Association public policy of being against the proposed Mega Dump we have gained new memberships and hopefully can entice past members to return to the fold. As for our pro dump members we would like to say to you that we are not against you, we are against the dump. We are in the process of working to construct the back part of the road so that we will be able to drive with our cars as close as possible to Lake O’Brien. We should have this done in the next 2 weeks. We are planning a hike and possibly a picnic for the month of August. As soon as a date is confirmed we will be posting it on the web. The new access to Lake O’Brien will enable us to do some canoeing, sailing, fishing, (with license) and possibly some camping. We ask that you respect the pristine wilderness and should camping privileges be granted, please be responsible regarding proper camping/camp fire protocol. I would like to extend to you an invitation in assisting us to defray our costs by calling upon your generosity for donations and/or volunteer work in the areas of biology, mycology, bird watching, fishing, culinary arts, machineries for road construction, sports, translations and any other disciplines that would benefit our association. Please contact any of our board members regarding suggestions and donations. A word of thanks goes to our past directors that have dedicated their energies to the growth of our Association.
